Edwards Play This Season Has Drawn Comparisons To The Nba Legend And With Good Reason

Anthony Edwards Looks Like Michael Jordan Now, and It's OK to Say That

Edwards' play this season has drawn comparisons to the NBA legend, and with good reason.

The biggest difference between Edwards and Jordan on the court is the latter's lack of a 3-point game.

Anthony Edwards looks a lot like Michael Jordan right now. Jordan is as good as anyone who has ever played the game, so that's high praise for the 23-year-old Edwards. But Edwards has looked a lot like Jordan this season, and it's OK to say that.

The 3-pointer from the wing right in a defender's face? Jordan did that. The driving layup with a defender draped all over him? Jordan did that. The soaring dunk over a helpless opponent? Jordan did that, too.

According to the NBA, Edwards generated more than 100 million video views across the league's social and digital platforms with his highlight-reel plays this season.

"Anthony Edwards is playing like Michael Jordan in 1988," ESPN's Brian Windhorst said.

Jordan, while he was known as an elite mid-range shooter, was not heavily reliant on the three-pointer and only attempted 1.6 per game in his career.

Edwards, on the other hand, has made the 3-pointer a key part of his game, averaging 3.7 attempts per game this season and shooting 37.5% from downtown.
