Saints take narrow lead into second leg after Armstrong's first-half strike
Adam Armstrong's first-half goal gave Southampton a 1-0 advantage over Leeds in the first leg of their Championship play-off semi-final at Elland Road.
The hosts made a bright start to the match, but it was Southampton who took the lead in the 35th minute when Armstrong fired home from close range after a cross from Mohamed Elyounoussi.
Leeds pressed for an equaliser in the second half, but they were unable to find a way past the Southampton defence.
The second leg of the semi-final will take place at St Mary's Stadium on Tuesday, May 28.
